Quick Reference Guide

  1. Check your offer and messages - Please review your important messages as they pertain to your Financial Aid eligibility in Banner Self Service
  2. Check your requirements - We may need additional documentation to finalize your financial aid eligibility, if applicable. Please review your requirements and upload any outstanding requirements. 
  3. Educational Financing Options - If you have questions regarding your financing options, you can find more information here.  
  4. Upcoming Communications - Be on the lookout for emails from our office and other offices regarding actionable items that may need to be completed. Some of these items may include sibling enrollment verification, completing loan requirements (studentfinancialservices@brown.edu), and in late fall, information from FAFSA regarding the 2026-2027 application. 
  5. Book and Course Materials Support (BCMS) programIf eligible to participate in BCMS, your books will be available to you with no out of pocket expense to you. All you need to do is use your Brown Student ID at the Brown Bookstore and all required books and materials will be covered.  The Brown BCMS team will provide additional details later this summer. 
  6. Student Employment - If you plan to work on campus or need a better understanding of the Federal Work-Study or Campus Employment component of your financial aid offer, please review our website for more information.
  7. Outside Scholarships - If you have not done so already, please report any external funding (outside scholarships, awards, tuition or veteran benefits, or any other educational resources, etc.) you will be receiving to the Office of Financial Aid by using the 2025-2026 External Funding Reporting Form.  Please review our website for more information about outside scholarships and options if your outside scholarship affects your Brown scholarship.
  8. My Scholarship Profile - Completion of this survey is voluntary and does not impact your eligibility for financial aid. However, the information you provide will be used to identify and potentially match you with donor-established scholarships, aligning with the specific intent of donors.
