Uploading Documents Through Banner Self-Service

Helpful hints for uploading documents

To navigate through Banner Self-Service, continuing students please Enter Secure Area using URL:  https://selfservice.brown.edu with your username and password. 

New and prospective applicants may access Banner Self-Service through their Brown Applicant Portal by selecting the Financial Aid Status link.

Helpful hints for uploading documents

  • Fill out forms, save on personal computer as pdf; then upload saved form via Banner Self-Service.
  • Do not include extra periods in the file name; myFile.pdf, for example.
  • Scan in black and white (on some scanners this is monochrome) at a low resolution (200-300 dpi).
  • Select "Other" if you are not sure of the correct label to assign to your document.
  • Upload one file at time.
