Brown Global Summer Programs
Brown students who receive Brown University Scholarship during the academic year may be eligible for a Summer Grant. The Summer Grant funds can be used toward Brown Undergraduate Summer Session courses, including those which are part of the Brown Global Summer Programs. Eligible students will be notified of their Summer Grant eligibility by emails from the Office of Financial Aid in the Spring. All financial aid application requirements for both the current year and the upcoming year must be satisfied to receive summer aid.
Non-Brown Summer Abroad Programs
Those studying abroad in the summer on programs other than the Brown Global Summer Programs are not eligible to receive a Summer Grant.
Federal aid (primarily federal loans) may be available to eligible students studying abroad in the summer.
Summer Loans
Students must be enrolled at least at a half-time status in the summer in order to be eligible for federal loan consideration. Please note that Summer loans cannot be processed until July 1st. If you need funding before that point, you may want to speak with a financial aid counselor to see if you may have eligibility to borrow loans in the Spring instead.
