Quick Reference Guide

  1. Check your offer and messages - Please review your important messages as they pertain to your Financial Aid eligibility in Banner Self Service
  2. Check your requirements - We may need additional documentation to finalize your financial aid eligibility, if applicable. Please review your requirements and upload any outstanding requirements.

  4. Educational Financing Options - If you have questions regarding your financing options, such as payment plans and loans, you can find more information here.
  5. Upcoming Communications - Be on the lookout for emails from our office and other offices regarding actionable items that may need to be completed. Some of these items may include sibling enrollment verification, completing loan requirements (studentfinancialservices@brown.edu), and in late fall, information from FAFSA regarding the 2025-2026 application.
  6. Book and Course Materials Support (BCMS) program - If eligible to participate in BCMS, your books will be available to you with no out of pocket expense to you. All you need to do is use your Brown Student ID at the Brown Bookstore and all required books and materials will be covered.  The Brown BCMS team will provide additional details later this summer.
  7. Student Employment - If you plan to work on campus or need a better understanding of the Federal Work-Study or Campus Employment component of your financial aid offer, please review our website for more information.
  8. Outside Scholarships - If you have not done so already, please report any Outside Scholarships you will be receiving to the Office of Financial Aid by using the Outside Scholarship Form.  Please review our website for more information about outside scholarships and options if your outside scholarship affects your Brown scholarship.
  9. Advancement Survey - While the following questions are voluntary and have no bearing on your financial aid, your responses enable the University to best use scholarships for outstanding students like you. Being matched to a donor established scholarship is an honor and provides you with a deeper connection to the Brown community. If you have any questions or issues, please contact donorrelations@brown.edu.
  10. Contact Info - As always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
