Undergraduate Financial Aid

Need Blind - International Students Prior to Fall 2025

How Brown's need-blind admission policy affects international students admitted prior to the fall of 2025.

Prior to the current need-blind admission policy, Brown University was need-aware for international students, which meant that if a student applied for aid, we would consider their financial need when making their admission decision. Therefore, indicating the need for financial aid on the admission application was an essential factor for receiving aid. Need-blind admission has not changed these financial aid policies for those admitted prior to the fall of 2025.

Returning international students

Returning international students who entered Brown for the first time prior to the fall of 2025, and were admitted without financial aid, are not eligible to receive financial aid during their time at Brown.
